Blog #6: Creative Video

 

This work is a continuous exploration of the mushroom theme yet in video format. 

I was inspired by some split-screen video collage work found online, in which the artist uses footage of two very different scenarios and collages them in the same frame to create connections. 

I started off by browsing mushroom stock footage online and making connections to other scenarios while watching the growth, change, and movement of mushrooms. Then, I looked for footage of the scenes that will fit well with the mushroom footage. I used iMovie as the editing tool to crop and collage the footage. The primary techniques I used were split screen, adjusting speed, and crop to fit. I intended to make the movements of the pairs of footage flow well together.
